I.G.I. 2: Covert Strike is a first-person shooter game that puts you in the role of David Jones, a former SAS soldier who now works for a secret organization called IGI. Your mission is to stop a global terrorist network from unleashing a nuclear warhead. You will travel to various locations around the world, such as Russia, Libya, and China, and use stealth, tactics, and weapons to infiltrate enemy bases and eliminate your targets.

The game offers a mix of action and stealth gameplay, as you can choose to either sneak past your enemies or engage them in firefights. You have access to a variety of weapons, such as pistols, rifles, snipers, grenades, and explosives. You also have a visibility meter that shows how easily you can be detected by your enemies, depending on your movement, posture, and lighting. You can also use binoculars, night vision goggles, and thermal goggles to scout your surroundings and plan your approach.

The game features 19 missions that are divided into three campaigns, each with its own storyline and objectives. The missions are varied and challenging, as you will have to deal with different environments, enemies, and situations. You will have to hack computers, plant bombs, rescue hostages, sabotage vehicles, and more. The game also has a multiplayer mode that supports up to 16 players online or on LAN. You can play in different modes, such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and cooperative.

 

The game has decent graphics and sound effects for its time, but it also has some flaws that prevent it from being a great game. The story is weak and poorly presented, as the game does not give you much background information or character development. The voice acting is also mediocre and sometimes annoying.
